We offer a three day introductory course outlining the basic components that make up a home or small business system. You will learn about the current products available and trends in the solar industry. At the end of the three days you will have all the information you need to design your own system based on your personal energy consumption and budget so you can make an informed buying decision.

Over the course of three days you will learn the ins and outs of basic solar energy system design. We will introduce the differences between AC and DC power, the different components that that make up a system, how to determine your energy usage and ways to reduce it, and how to appropriately budget the cost of a system to meet your needs. The goal of these three days to is learn the current trends in the solar energy market in order to make an informed buying decision. We will give you a competitive analysis of the different products on the market, with a focus on products available in Central America. On the final day the participants will each present a system design including number and type of solar panels, number and type of batteries, type of charge controller, and what wattage inverter.

In addition to the costs please budget for any additional expense you may incur during your stay with us. We offer alcoholic beverages, guided tours and bicycle rentals at an additional cost. Transportation costs are not included.
